Launching Conference Making Sustainability Reality (17-20 April 2012, Malmö, Sweden)
On April 17-20, 2012 in Malmö was held Launching Conference of the Project NORDIC-RUSSIAN GREEN GROWTH ARENA. The purpose of the umbrella project NORDIC-RUSSIAN GREEN GROWTH ARENA is to implement green growth development principles in the North-west Russian regions and municipalities based on Nordic experience. The project will help municipalities, regions and other organizations to create sustainable platform for joint decisions realization. Plans of the project - conferences, seminars, study visits to the Nordic countries for Russian experts and other events. The project will last two years and be completed in late 2013. In the Launchin Conference participated 56 representatives from St Petersburg, Leningrad Region, Pskov Region, Republic of Karelia, Kaliningrad, Murmansk Region, Arkhangelsk Region, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway and Poland. In the Conference participated Katarina Pelin, Director of Environment, City of Malmö, Mats Ekenger, Senior Adviser, Nordic Council of Ministers, Mats Jonsson, Senior Adviser, Sustainable Business Hub (SBHUB), Malmö. Venue of the Launching Conference was not chosen by chance - the city of Malmö has unique experience in economic development to meet modern requirements for energy efficiency and conservation.
